The warts on your face is only one of the many types. First let's look at the different types:

2. Flat Warts - this usually grows in the face, neck, knees, hands and wrists and is flat
3. Plantar Warts - are warts which grow on the soles of your feet
4. Genital Warts - these warts grow in the genital.
5. Filiform wart are finger-like wart which are also common on the face. Mostly it appears in the lips and eyelids.
6. Periungual wart appears near the nails and they are a cluster of cauliflower-like shapes.
7. Mosaic wart appears generally on the hands and soles of feet. These are a cluster of plantar-type warts.
It is important to take precaution because they are contagious. In order to minimize the risk of getting them from others, don't come in direct contact with those infected. Also to ensure hygiene, wash your hands and face and do not share belongings of others. Things such as towel, flip flops, socks may carry the HPV virus. This happens particularly when you have open wounds or scratches. Besides this, it can also transmit through sexual activity.
It is critical that you do not scratch them because it would cause the virus to spread to wider area. That is one reason why many people prefer to remove the warts that are in their faces.
There are a few treatments for warts. Three common ones include using salicylic acid and cryotherapy and laser surgery.
Salicylic acid of lesser intensity can be bought from over the counter. Apply it locally following instructions given. It will cause the skin to peel off and eventually the entire wart will disappear.
Cryotherapy which uses liquid nitrogen to freeze them. The low temperature causes crystal ice to form in the warts and destroying it. It also stops blood from going to the wart. They will become blister and drop off. This may cause some scar depending on their sizes and the skill of the doctor.
Besides that, you can also opt for laser surgery which uses beam from the laser to peel off the cells of the warts. Laser surgery is mostly used for those that are flat and not deep.
When choosing treatment for the face, it is important to consider whether there will be scar as a result of the treatment. Other things that you have to consider is the cost of the treatment.
